Exciting Car Launches: New Models, New Cars and Luxury SUV Launches Arriving in August 2023
Out of many launches to happen in August, here are the most popular cars and SUV variants, but mostly luxury brands.
Most awaited Toyota Rumion MPV which is a rebatching of Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, Tata Motors is powering its Punch with CNG. In the luxury segment, Audi and Volvo are launching their Electric SUVs and Mercedes-Benz will launch its most popular and highest-selling Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV), the 2nd generation GLC with face lift.
Mahindra is also launching its Electric SUV the equivalent of the XUV700. There and many cars and SUVs more to be launched in 2023, but lets talk about the launches in August.
1. Toyota Rumion (Tentative Aug or Sept)

The Toyota Rumion, which is based on the Maruti Ertiga, will debut in Indian market in August. The offspring of Toyota and Suzuki’s collaboration is anticipated to look similar to the Ertiga, but with some cosmetic tweaks up front and unique selling points.
In addition to new badges, you may expect a new interior color scheme and possibly new alloy wheels. The Toyota Rumion would share its drive-train and most of its features with the Toyota Ertiga, with the possible addition of certain premium options.
What is the expected price ? Price tags of around 9 Lakh rupees can be expected.

2. Tata Punch CNG
The Punch CNG was introduced to the public by Tata Motors during the 2018 Auto Expo. This is one of the bestselling car of Tata Motors and CNG will give it an additional boost.
Tata’s new twin-cylinder tanks will be installed in its fourth CNG vehicle, the Punch. From the gasoline model, the 1.2-liter, three-cylinder engine and 5-speed manual transmission will be carried over. It generates 86 horsepower and 113 Newton-meters of torque in petrol mode and 77 horsepower and 97 Newton-meters of peak torque in CNG mode.
Tata Motors has also worked on the boot space of Punch to make it fit more stuff just like Altroz. Due to the twin cylinder technology, the cylinders have been better placed in the boot to make it more spacious. The The Punch CNG will compete with other smaller mini CNG Cars in the market once it is released.
What is the expected price ? Price is expected to be Rs 8.45 Lakhs approximately.
3. Mahindra XUV e8
The Mahindra XUV e8 will be presented off to the public for the first time on the Independence day August 15. Mahindra’s XUV e8 is the XUV700’s electric cousin. It is anticipated that the XUV e8 would look very similar to its flashy ICE counterpart, with some minor adjustments made for the EV version.
A battery pack with a capacity of 60-80 kWh should be available for the XUV.e8. A pair of electric motors might power it, perhaps resulting in 335 to 389 horsepower. The electric SUV from Mahindra will have all-wheel drive, the company has announced.
Features like Level 2+ autonomy, 5G connectivity, over-the-air updates, connected car features with smartwatch compatibility, driver drowsiness detection, a sizable driver display and touchscreen infotainment system, multi re-gen modes, and more are all things that Mahindra is expected to offer with the XUV e8.
The electric vehicle is predicted to include some extra amenities and cost around 30 lakhs as per the variant (Ex-Showroom).

4. 2nd-gen Mercedes-Benz GLC Face lift
The second-generation Mercedes-Benz GLC SUV will make its premiere in India in the second week of August. It was first shown off in the rest of the world in 2017.
Both the gasoline-powered GLC 300 and the diesel-powered GLC 220d will feature Mercedes’ 4Matic all-wheel drive technology. The two 2.0-liter engines each include a 48V integrated starting motor that adds 23 horsepower. The SUV’s cabin looks essentially indistinguishable from the new C-Class, with its 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and 11.9-inch touchscreen both configured in portrait mode.
After its launch new Mercedes GLC has a competition from Volvo XC60/BMW X3/Audi Q5 and Lexus NX. Crash Test results are awaited as its not been done.
At Mercedes-Benz, bookings have started in full swing. Customers can pay the token amount to place a booking.
What is the expected price ? Price is expected to be between 65 lakhs to 75 lakhs as per the variant.
5. Audi Q8 e-tron and e-tron Sportback
In India, you’ll soon be able to purchase an Audi Q8 e-tron. On August 18th, 2023, the electric SUV will be released to the public. Audi will bring in the Q8 e-tron as a CBU, or completely built unit. It will replace the Audi e-tron and come as an SUV and a Sportback.
There will be two electric motors, one for each axle, powered by a 114 kWh battery pack that will be optional for the Q8 e-tron in India. It can produce a total of 402 BHP and 664 Nm of torque. The Q8 e-tron can supposedly travel 582 kilometers on a single charge, while the Sportback has a stated range of 600 kilometers.
Changes to the 2019 Q8 e-tron’s exterior include new 20-inch alloy wheels, Q8 badging for the trunk lid and tailgate, and revised front and rear bumpers.
The model’s cabin will feature a panoramic sunroof, powered front seats with heating, ventilation, and massage functions, four-zone climate control, a 360-degree camera, tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), and a 16-speaker music system sourced from B&O. Two touchscreen displays, one measuring 10.1 inches for use as an infotainment system and the other 8.6 inches for climate control and other functions, will be available on the center console.
What is the expected price ? Price is expected to be between 1.1 Crore to Rs 1.42 Crores as per the variant.
6. Volvo C40 Recharge
The C40 Recharge, Volvo’s second electric vehicle (EV) in India, will be on sale in August and deliveries will start in September.
Its sloping roofline and highly sloped back window set it out visually from the XC40 Recharge, which it resembles. The interiors of the two EVs are, however, interchangeable; each features a 9.0-inch touchscreen display optimized for portrait orientation. The Volvo C40 Recharge, built on the CMA (Compact Modular Architecture) chassis, features a pair of motors capable of 408 horsepower and 660 Newton-meters of torque. A 78 kWh battery pack gives it a 530 km (WLTP) driving range.
